Gallerista, curatore e critico d’arte

Da più di trent’anni Jean Blanchaert conduce la sua attività a contatto con i materiali contemporanei. La Galleria Blanchaert, a Milano, fondata nel 1957 dalla madre Silvia, ha al suo attivo innumerevoli mostre, in Italia e all’estero, nell’ambito delle quali ha presentato i lavori di alcuni fra i migliori artisti-artigiani del mondo. Blanchaert ha anche curato decine di mostre, in luoghi istituzionali, nel campo del vetro, della ceramica, del ferro e del marmo, oltreché dell’arte e della fotografia. Parallelamente all’attività galleristica, editoriale e curatoriale, Blanchaert è anche illustratore, calligrafo e scultore in vetro. Il disegno, in particolare il disegno a china, è una sua costante passione da almeno quarant’anni.

Simbolo del convegno “Contagio” è l’opera in vetro a lume “Fuga dal Coronavirus” di Lucio Bubacco, che verrà presentata dal gallerista JEAN BLANCHAERT.

Gallerist, curator and art critic

Jean Blanchaert has been working in the field of contemporary art for over thirty years. Founded in 1957 by his mother Silvia, the Blanchaert Gallery in Milan has held numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad, presenting the work of some of the world’s best artists and artisans. Jean has also curated dozens of exhibitions for institutional venues in the mediums of glass, ceramics, iron and marble, as well as visual art and photography. Alongside his gallery, publishing and curatorial activities, Jean Blanchaert is also an illustrator, calligrapher and glass sculptor. Drawing, particularly with ink, has been his constant passion for at least forty years. The symbol featuring this “Contagio” conference is the glass lamp work titled Fuga dal Coronavirus (Escape from the Coronavirus) by Lucio Bubacco, which will be presented by the gallery.
